Welcome to International School Moshi

In August 2019, International School Moshi will open as UWC East Africa (UWCEA). UWCEA will be the 18th UWC school worldwide and the second in Africa.

With campuses in Kilimanjaro and Arusha, ISM is a long established and fully accredited independent International Baccalaureate (IB) school in northern Tanzania. With a structured boarding programme, and the PYP, MYP and Diploma curriculum, ISM provides an education for children from both the local and expatriate communities. Our students are aged from 3 to 19 years. We have over 500 students, on two campuses, from over 40 different nationalities. As well as day students we have about 120 boarders in Moshi. We provide a broad range of educational offerings whilst maintaining a high standard of individual care.

Our Arusha Campus is a day school with over 200 students situated on the western side of Arusha. In addition to offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), we introduced the IB Diploma Programme for 16-19 year olds in August 2014. The Arusha Campus has a spectacular view of Mt Meru.

The Moshi Campus in Kilimanjaro Region was established in 1969 and has over 280 students. ISM was the first school in Africa to offer the IB Diploma which began in Moshi in the 1970s. The Moshi Campus also offers the PYP and MYP as well as the IB Diploma. Moshi Campus has a number of boarding houses for all ages above 7 years. About half the students in Moshi are boarders; others are day students living with their families in and around Moshi. The Moshi Campus has a close up and impressive view of Mt Kilimanjaro.
