A special edition newsletter to welcome back everybody new and old! Don’t forget that the new quarter starts on Monday 13th August.
For students who will be new to ISM, there will be a new student orientation session between 9am and 11am on Friday 10th August. All ages welcome!
Over the long holiday we received the sad news that Mrs Diana Kraft would be resigning from her position at ISM for family reasons. I feel sad for a number of reasons but mainly because we didnt have the opportunity to publicly thank Diana for her many years of outstanding service to ISM. I am sure she will return to Tanzania at some point and we can show our thanks at that time. In the meantime we wish her the best of luck. We have been busy searching for a replacement for Diana and are pleased to announce that the P3 class will be taught by Mr Marcel Gulpers, an experienced Primary teacher from Holland.
We were also saddened to hear that another long term servant of ISM passed away over the holiday period. Julius Zakaria was our Head Gardener for many years and was largely responsible for the beautiful gardens that we enjoy today on Arusha Campus. Our thoughts go out to his family.
Some new arrivals to the ISM community! Walter (Head of Maintenance) is now father to a baby boy called Jowen; Asha (Housekeeping) is mum to a baby boy named Nasibu; and Emmanuel (Workshop) is a proud dad of yet another baby boy called Hilary! Hongera wote!
Pictured above you wlll see the familiar face of Rozi, our Canteen Manager. Rozi will be going back to school – Culinary School in Canada to enhance her expertise. In her absence the canteen will be managed by Mezabine and Abbas who are pictured to Rozi’s right. Its ‘welcome back’ to Mezabine who was a student here at ISMAC when we were at the Blue Heron site in town!
We have lots of new teachers who we will be introducing in next week’s newsletter.
Finally, congratulations to all our MYP and DP students and teachers who received a splendid set of results. More details follow in this edition.
