College Counsellor
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic College Counsellor. You will be responsible for working with students as they decide their post-school plans. Whilst much of the work will be with the school’s IB Diploma graduating class, our counselling programme starts with our students in the MYP. Experience of international college and university admission processes is essential as every year we have over seventy students applying to North America, Europe and the Middle East. Minimum qualifications are a first degree and teaching qualification. This is a full-time position on our Moshi Campus starting in August 2025.
History and Global Politics teacher
We seek a teacher of History and Global Politics at the DP level that can teach theory, but also bring in practical experience to the students. Applicants should possess a degree in History and/or Global Politics, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. As part of the philosophy at UWCEA all secondary teachers have a portion of their teaching allotment set aside for working in the residential setting. This is a full-time position on our Moshi Campus starting in August 2025.
ESS and Geography
We seek a teacher of Environmental Systems and Societies and Geography at the DP level that can teach theory, but also bring in practical experience to the students. Applicants should possess a degree in Economics or business education, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. As part of the philosophy at UWCEA all secondary teachers have a portion of their teaching allotment set aside for working in the residential setting. English and Drama Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic and creative English and Drama teacher mostly at the MYP level but with the possibility of Diploma classes. Applicants should possess a degree in English, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in the IB Diploma or MYP Programme are encouraged to apply. French teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate French teacher at the MYP and upper PYP level. Applicants should possess a degree in French or French Language education, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Swim Coach and Lifeguard
We seek an experienced swim coach and lifeguard to work with students in classroom and non-classroom settings on our Moshi Campus. The ideal candidate will be able to work with the existing Physical Education department members to provide swim lessons to students aged 3-16 during the school day. They would also run swim clubs for different ages and abilities outside class time. Experience in pool maintenance is a must. This position would have an initial contract time from January through June.
Mathematics teacher
We seek an enthusiastic teacher of Mathematics at the MYP and DP level. Applicants should possess a degree in Math or Math education, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teaching experience in IB MYP is essential. As part of the philosophy at UWCEA all secondary teachers have a portion of their teaching allotment set aside for working in the residential setting. There are full-time positions on both campuses starting in August 2025.
Chemistry
We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of IB DP Chemistry and MYP Science. Applicants should possess a degree in chemistry, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. Music teacher
We seek a dedicated and passionate Visual Art teacher at the MYP and DP level. Applicants should possess a degree in Visual Art, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in the IB Diploma Programme are encouraged to apply. Physical Education Teacher
We are seeking a dynamic Physical Education teacher at the MYP level. Applicants should possess a degree in Physical Education or Sports Science, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in the IB MYP Programme are encouraged to apply. This role will have a portion of the time working as a residential parent. This is a full-time position on our Moshi Campus starting in August 2025.
Physics teacher
We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher of IB DP Physics and MYP Science. Applicants should possess a degree in physics, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. This is a full-time position on our Arusha Campus starting in August 2025.
Socio-Emotional Counsellor
We are seeking a School Counsellor to work with students one-on-one and in group settings within a team. Minimum qualification is a degree in counselling or social work preferably with experience working in a school or with people of a similar age. This position will involve afternoon, evening and weekend work and is on our Arusha Campus. It starts in August 2025.
Theatre/Drama teacher
We seek a dedicated and passionate Theatre and Drama teacher at the MYP and DP level. Applicants should possess a degree in Theatre and Drama, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. As part of the philosophy at UWCEA all secondary teachers have a portion of their teaching allotment set aside for working in the residential setting. This is a full-time position starting in August 2025.
Upper Primary teacher
We seek a passionate and engaging Upper Primary teacher. Applicants should possess a degree, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching the IB Primary Years Programme. Experience in the PYP Exhibition is essential. This is a full-time position starting in August 2025.
Visual Art and Design teacher
We seek a dedicated and passionate teacher of Middle School Visual Art and Design (MYP1-3). Applicants should possess a degree in a relevant subject, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Teachers with experience in IB are preferred. This position is likely to include a role within the school's residential programme. This is a full-time position on our Moshi Campus starting in August 2025.
Biology teacher

Applicants should possess a degree in History, Geography, Humanities education or similar field, a teaching qualification and at least three years of experience teaching an international curriculum. Application Procedures
Any applications for either Moshi or Arusha Campus should include a full CV/résumé and the names and addresses (including e-mail addresses) of three professional referees. It is important to include details of any family members who may accompany you; we are unlikely to offer employment to a spouse unless as part of a teaching couple and local employment opportunities are extremely limited. Current Tanzanian regulations mean that we are only able to consider teachers under fifty five years of age who have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience.
As a minimum requirement, all applicants for teaching positions must have a first degree and a teaching qualification that entitles them to teach in their home country. International teaching experience is also desired. All teachers of diploma level subjects are required to have a minimum of three years’ teaching experience at a similar level, such as IB Diploma, AP, or Advanced Level experience.
For many teaching positions, experience of teaching IB PYP, MYP or Diploma (as appropriate) will be a significant advantage, but is not specifically required.
