ISM Arusha is excited to introduce an initiative to become a Non-Renewable Plastic Free Campus in 2019

Arusha Campus prides itself for being at the forefront of change by educating our children and community about the environment and the impact of their choices. Over the years, our school has done an amazing job of reducing plastic waste on campus and deserves our congratulations. We also applaud the intention of the Tanzanian Government to ban the production, importation, sale and use of single use plastic bags from July 2019.
Now it’s time to take it a step further by becoming at Non-Renewable Plastic (NRP) Free Campus and to do this we need your help! From May 1st, 2019 we encourage all students to only bring re-usable water bottles, re-usable snack boxes and environmentally friendly packaging to school.

Some ideas to reduce your plastic use!
• Filter your water and fill a re-usable water bottle each day
• Buy snacks in bulk and pack in re-usable containers
• Choose plastic free options whenever possible
• Say no to straws and extra wrapping on products
• Take reusable bags to the supermarket and other stores
• REFUSE plastic products whenever you can
• REUSE items instead of buying new ones
• RECYCLE any plastics you do use
